经常有留学生续签的时候遇到语言问题，今天我把移民局的管理条例翻出来，大家可以发现各类签证移民局允许攻读语言的周数不一样。比如573签证中国是level 3，允许60周，572签证是level4，只允许40周。
69 MAXIMUM PERIOD OF ELICOS STUDIES (ALL VISAS)
In addition to the Schedule 5A limitations on prerequisite ELICOS, Schedule 2 specifies the maximum period of aggregate ELICOS studies an AL 3, 4 or 5 student may undertake. In considering subclass 570-575 criteria, the aggregate period of ELICOS studies must not exceed:
• 60 weeks - if a student is subject to AL 3
• 40 weeks - if a student is subject to AL 4 or 5.
In calculating whether an applicant will exceed the maximum permissible period of ELICOS studies, officers must take into account the total period of ELICOS the applicant is seeking to undertake, together with the aggregate period of any ELICOS the applicant has previously undertaken as the holder of a subclass 570-576 visa or subsequent bridging visa - see section 70 Calculating the maximum period allowed. Overseas officers can confirm previous ELICOS study by referring to previous eCoEs on PRISMS. There is no limit on the maximum aggregate period of ELICOS studies for AL 1 or 2 applicants in any student visa subclass.
另外，在计算总周数的时候，可以把假期去除，只计算付学费上课的周数。留学生需要提供假期的证据。
70 CALCULATING THE MAXIMUM PERIOD ALLOWED
70.1 Tuition weeks to be considered
Under policy, in calculating the maximum period of ELICOS undertaken by an AL 3-5 applicant, officers may exclude course breaks from the calculation if the applicant provides:
• a copy of an eCoE with the length of breaks noted in the comments section by the education provider or
• other satisfactory evidence confirming the length of breaks.
If this evidence is not provided, or is not satisfactory, officers should calculate the length of ELICOS from the course start and end dates on the eCoE. Depending on the course structure, a mid-semester break may also be acceptable. Education providers should specify the length of any breaks under the comments section of the eCoE.
近来很多留学生盲目申请570签证，这里要考虑到如果读完50周语言，下面再申请新的签证，你会发现你可能联系15周的语言直升班也无法上了。总之语言是留学的根本，一定要掌握基本的法律要求，提前规划，才会避免后遗症！
